Pound Gates take over 13 millions steps in lockdown challenge

Pound Gates take over 13 millions steps in lockdown challenge

In January the staff at Pound Gates, along with their colleagues at Sevatas and Contior, pledged to take 11 million steps in Step Up 4 Soma Leo, The Pound Gates Lockdown Steps Challenge.

The Challenge was designed to help our staff look after their physical and mental wellbeing during Lockdown 3, as well as raise much needed funds for the company’s charity The Soma Leo Foundation.

60 people took part in the Challenge. Each participant pledged how many steps they would take, and they were free to take them in whichever way suited them best and in the safest manner possible. Many took advantage of the exercise window and took their steps in all the weathers that January threw at us.

And the result? The team smashed the steps goal by over 2 million steps, reaching a total of 13,238,203 steps.

They also hit the fundraising target of £5,000 which will go towards supporting The Soma Leo Foundation in 2021.

Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the Challenge.

Finally, the children at The Soma Leo Academy recorded this short video to say “thank you” to everyone who took part and made a donation.
